Quality
You can taste the organic difference!

Did you know organic broccoli tastes sweet?

Many of the foods you thought were either bland or tart tasting actually take on a new life when grown organically. The subtle sweet taste of corn onions or the broccoli we grow is a product of a healthy and nutritious plant that enjoyed a full life cycle in balanced soil.

Too many organic growers starve their crops and the results are bland organic foods with little nutritional value.

Organic plant foods, properly grown and nurtured, must be planted in a quality soil that takes years to develop or, supplied with enough organic amendments to build the soil while feeding the crop.

Kevin Lundgren the Organic farm manager now 38, has been growing organically since he was a teenager.  Organic food production been his passion and his hobby for 25 years. He was growing crops organically long before the term "organic" was cool.

Kevin is a commercial farmer who owns several hundred acres along with his brother Mike Lundgren. Until 2006, Kevin had concentrated his organic efforts on 11 acres of this land where, over a decade, he improved the organic factor of the soil from 1.2% to over 3% while reducing the PH factor from 8.1 to 7.4. In other words, he took worn out Central Texas blackland and restored it to level of virgin productivity.  There is no shortage of bees or worms on this 11 acres.  The Crimson Clover seen on the masthead above was grown to maturity on a protion of the 11 acres during the spring of 2007.  Yes, Kevin grew Crimson Clover in Central Texas!

In 2006, we (his dad and step mom) began to organize this nonprofit to help Kevin build upon his  knowledge and expertise.  We have purchased 102 acres of land in Eastern Travis County that was fallow for 15 years and this year, Kevin is growing organic white food grade milo on the acreage.  We have leased the farm to Kevin for organic production only.

Why go organic? Organic foods are grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Organic foods are not genetically modified. Organic foods are grown in soil that is nurtured, not treated... which means top soil, groundwater, rivers, lakes, streams, watersheds, fish & wildlife, and people are not compromised. Healthy food grows in healthy soil.
